I Was Wrong About Gemini 2.5 Pro (Here's Why)

Hey Reader,

24 hours can change everything.

Yesterday, I dropped a video saying Gemini 2.5 Pro isn't that great.

Today... I'm eating my words.

Because the truth is, it's really good.

But there's a catch:

You need to know exactly what to use it for. And it still has some serious issues.

Here's what I discovered after publishing my video:

If you're designing websites or interfaces, Claude 3.7 Sonnet is still king.

No contest.

But once you have that design...

Gemini 2.5 Pro becomes a coding monster.

I've seen it:

  • Fully understand complex projects
  • Add completely new features without breaking existing code
  • Plan ahead with impressive foresight
  • Remember context for ridiculously long conversations

This isn't just an upgrade. It's a different beast entirely.

The Problem Nobody's Talking About

Right now, you can't actually pay for Gemini 2.5 Pro.

It's limited access with strict daily and per-minute quotas.

Which means:

  • You hit walls constantly
  • Can't rely on it for serious work
  • Never know when you'll get cut off

Meanwhile, Claude is there 24/7, ready whenever you need it.

So for now, as much as I want to dive deeper, Sonnet 3.7 still takes the win.

The Bigger Picture

If (and when) Gemini becomes fully available, it will transform how we build apps.

But until then, I'm sticking with what works.

Plus, Google hasn't even revealed pricing yet. That could change everything.

But I wanted you to get this insight first. That's what this list is for.

Talk soon,
Rob

Hey Reader, Last week, the AI world was freaking out. OpenAI bought Windsurf, cue the chaos. "OpenAI will kill off every other model!""Google’s done!""This is the AI apocalypse!" But here's what no one’s telling you. It’s all noise. What Really Happened Yes, OpenAI did buy Windsurf (for $3B, btw). And yeah, Gemini’s been extremely slow on it. But that’s actually on Google, not Windsurf. Gemini 2.5 Pro’s been unstable everywhere. Especially since the update to it a week ago. Sometimes it...

Hey Reader, Yesterday, I realized I've been giving some of you the wrong advice. I've been pushing tools like Cursor and Windsurf as the "best option" for building your app. But here's my mistake: you might not actually need them. No-Code tools like Lovable could be the better choice. But what should you choose? When NO-CODE Beats AI Coding Tools If you're building any of these 3 things... 1️⃣ A landing page or mini website (like a link-in-bio or newsletter page) 2️⃣ A simple app with basic...

Hey Reader, I’ve been hiding something from you. The emails you’ve been reading every week… not mine. I’ve secretly been using AI as my personal copywriter, and nobody noticed. But here’s the craziest part. I only spend 15 minutes writing them each week. And I think you should too. Here’s how. My AI Newsletter Framework I used to spend hours (no joke) writing these emails. Now, I use Claude (the best AI for writing in my opinion) to semi-automate them instead. Not only do I save a ton of...
