Why Your First Cursor AI App Will Suck (And Why That's Okay)

Hey Reader,

Thank you for exploding my YouTube channel this week.

But here's what I noticed from your comments:

You find Cursor frustrating compared to tools like Lovable, Replit, or Bolt.

I get it.

Those tools are designed to be no-code friendly. They hold your hand through the entire process.

Cursor doesn't.

There's a learning curve that most people will quit on too early.

But the founders who push through that initial frustration, they turn into heroes.

They build things the "no-code crowd" will never understand.

And they do it for a fraction of the cost.

Think about it.

Cursor is a tool that not only builds your app but can also:

  • Automate large parts of your life and business
  • Create things Lovable and similar could never do
  • Save you thousands in developer costs

All starting at $20/month.

Even Better Than Cursor?

Look, Cursor doesn't pay me.

I promote them because for the price there's no better AI coding tool in the world right now.

But if money isn't a problem for you, there are better tools.

And when I say "better", here's what I mean:

  • More memory to remember things you told it
  • Sticking to tasks better without getting confused
  • Getting to the solutions faster, with less frustration

Windsurf, for example, is very similar but costs a bit more every month due to how their credits work.

VSCode + Cline is even better, but might cost as much as $30-100/day, which is no joke.

It all depends on how much you're willing to spend to save time and headache.

What's Coming Next

I just published a complete Cursor AI Beginner Tutorial for those who haven't started yet.

It explains in easy to follow steps, and in just 10 minutes, how to set it all up.

This is just the beginning. I'm building something much bigger:

A community of founders who use AI to build their next million-dollar idea.

And I want you to be part of it.

If you're new to this newsletter, welcome aboard. I appreciate you.

Talk next week,
Rob

P.S. Drop a comment on my latest video if there's something specific you want me to build with Cursor. I'm taking requests!

Hey Reader, 24 hours can change everything. Yesterday, I dropped a video saying Gemini 2.5 Pro isn't that great. Today... I'm eating my words. Because the truth is, it's really good. But there's a catch: You need to know exactly what to use it for. And it still has some serious issues. Here's what I discovered after publishing my video: If you're designing websites or interfaces, Claude 3.7 Sonnet is still king. No contest. But once you have that design... Gemini 2.5 Pro becomes a coding...

Hey Reader, I'm late to write this email, but for a good reason. And it might be the best mistake I've made in years. Because for the past week, I've obsessed about AI coding. No videos. No Instagram stories. Nothing. Just building apps. And what I learned changes everything for small business owners like us. I just built THREE completely functional apps using only AI. Think about that. No coding required. I remember when "building an app" would cost tens of thousands of dollars. But this...
