Here's something I wish I knew before choosing Instagram over YouTube. 18 months ago, I made a $6,000 mistake that almost killed my YouTube channel. Despite my love for YouTube, I bought a terrible mentorship that convinced me to focus on Instagram Reels. I dedicated my life to Instagram for the next year, posting over 200 short-form videos. And from the outside, I looked like a huge success. I gained tens of thousands of followers and had multiple viral videos (with 40M views 😮💨). But here’s the problem. While I had built a large audience, I had almost zero community. People didn’t care about the person behind the content. On YouTube, my few subscribers left long, thoughtful comments. But on Instagram, my tens of thousands of followers left comments like...
The Harsh Truth About InstagramMost creators won’t admit this to themselves, but... Building a strong connection with super short videos is really hard. Sure, it’s possible, but the odds are stacked against you. That's because of something called the Mere Exposure Effect. The more time you spend with someone, the stronger your feelings for them. That applies to real life and screen time. So the math is simple: connection takes time. A 1-minute video can’t compete with a 20-minute Video on YouTube. YouTube Is F*cking HardA good short might take 10 minutes to 2 hours to make. A good YouTube video is 10-30 hours, maybe longer. Not to mention the skills required to research titles and design thumbnails... ☠️ And even after all that work, your first few videos might only get 20 views. I’ve been there, this really sucks and it's easy to give up. But after returning to YouTube, I think it’s totally worth it. And here's why I think you should, too:

Hey Reader, 24 hours can change everything. Yesterday, I dropped a video saying Gemini 2.5 Pro isn't that great. Today... I'm eating my words. Because the truth is, it's really good. But there's a catch: You need to know exactly what to use it for. And it still has some serious issues. Here's what I discovered after publishing my video: If you're designing websites or interfaces, Claude 3.7 Sonnet is still king. No contest. But once you have that design... Gemini 2.5 Pro becomes a coding...
Hey Reader, Thank you for exploding my YouTube channel this week. But here's what I noticed from your comments: You find Cursor frustrating compared to tools like Lovable, Replit, or Bolt. I get it. Those tools are designed to be no-code friendly. They hold your hand through the entire process. Cursor doesn't. There's a learning curve that most people will quit on too early. But the founders who push through that initial frustration, they turn into heroes. They build things the "no-code...
